Yes. At Kickstart Family Hub, parents or carers stay and take part in every session. We believe children make the greatest progress when the important adults in their lives are involved. We'll guide activities, model strategies and support you both throughout the session.
We currently support children from toddlers through to approximately 12 years of age. Activities are always adapted to suit your child's age, interests and individual needs.
Not at all. Some children chat from the moment they arrive, while others prefer to watch, explore or stay close to their parent at first. There is never any pressure. We follow each child's pace and celebrate every small step.
Absolutely. Kickstart Family Hub is a neurodiversity-affirming space where children are welcomed exactly as they are. We celebrate each child's unique strengths and tailor sessions to meet their individual needs.
No. Kickstart Family Hub is not a clinical therapy service. We offer play-based wellbeing and confidence-building sessions that strengthen the relationship between parents and children while providing practical tools to support emotional wellbeing. If we ever feel your child would benefit from additional specialist support, we'll always discuss this with you.
Every session is different because every child is different. Activities may include: Creative arts and crafts · Sensory play · Mindfulness activities · Games and movement · LEGO and construction play · Confidence-building activities · Emotional wellbeing resources · Parent-child challenges. Every activity is carefully chosen with your child's individual interests and needs in mind.
Just yourselves! We'll provide everything needed for the session. You may wish to bring a drink for your child, and if they have a comfort item that helps them feel safe, they are very welcome to bring it along.
Most sessions last approximately one hour.
Every child's journey is unique. Some families enjoy attending for a short period to focus on a particular goal, while others choose to continue coming each week over several months as their child builds confidence, develops new skills and strengthens family connections. We'll support your family for as long as you feel the sessions are beneficial, and we'll always work at a pace that feels right for you.
Yes—and that's one of the things that makes Kickstart Family Hub different. Our focus is on supporting the whole family. By involving parents in every session, we help you understand what's working, why it works and how to continue supporting your child long after you leave the Hub.
Simply get in touch using our contact form, email or phone. We usually begin with a complimentary Meet & Connect session so you and your child can visit the Hub, meet us, explore the space and see if it feels like the right fit.
That's okay too. Our goal isn't to make children fit into our sessions—it's to create sessions they genuinely want to return to. If something isn't working, we'll adapt. We follow your child's interests and build trust at their pace.
Yes. We welcome any adult who plays an important role in your child's life, whether that's a grandparent, foster carer, guardian or another trusted family member.
Yes. We treat every family with respect and confidentiality. Information shared during sessions is kept private, except where we have a legal safeguarding responsibility to share concerns in order to protect a child or another person from harm.
You don't need to worry about your child fitting in here. Every child who walks through our door is different, and that's exactly how we like it. Whether your child is energetic, quiet, anxious, creative, curious or simply needs time to feel comfortable, they'll be welcomed exactly as they are. At Kickstart Family Hub, we don't expect children to change who they are. We help them discover the confidence to be themselves.
